"A Hundred years from now,
it will not matter what my bank account was,
the sort of house I lived in,
or the kind of car I drove
but the world may be different
because I was important in the life of a child."
We are currently looking for volunteers for 2016.
Our Summer Reading and Recreation Program has grown from 25 kids the 1st year, 2009, to more than 400 in 2015. As a reflection of this program the Aumsville Elementary rating on students' reading levels have also started to go up!
This is an amazing program that reaches many children through games, art, history, and especially reading time. Each child takes home a free book each week throughout the summer. Parents and children are encouraged to keep track of their Reading times and we throw a big party at the end of the summer to celebrate the number of minutes read.
Volunteers are an essential part of this program. There are many ways that you can participate as a volunteer:
Become a PARC committee member.
Share your special talent with the children -
Donate: money, art/craft supplies, snacks, games, or call Lora 503-
The summer activities start the week after school lets out and are from 9am-
Please join us in making memories for local children: playing in the park, meeting new friends, and learning to enjoy reading.
